Kim
Bok-shil
Choi
Seung-hee(Kim
Rae-won)
is a
young
film
director
who
just
made
a
successful
international
film
debut.
Following
his
success
in
Australia,
he
meets
the
girl
of
his
dreams,
Lee
Hye-soo(Jung
Ryu-won),
an
aspiring
musician.
The
two
fall
in
love,
to
the
vehement
opposition
of
Hye-soo's
wealthy
family,
whose
mother
believes
that
Seung-hee
is
too
selfish
and
cocky.
Even
though
her
family
was
opposed
to
Seung-hee,
Hye-soo
still
wanted
to
marry
Seung-hee.
As
the
two
young
lovers
prepare
to
face
Hye-soo's
family,
Seung-hee
proposes
to
Hye-soo
in
the
car,
and
while
putting
the
ring
on
her
finger,
tragedy
strikes
and
they
end
up
getting
into
a
car
accident
resulting
in
Hye-soo's
death.
Traumatized
and
racked
with
guilt,
Seung-hee
retreats
into
his
own
little
bubble,
becoming
rude,
depressed,
introverted
and
scared
to
love
again...
Even
after
three
years,
Seung-hee's
cannot
seem
to
forget
Hye-soo
nor
put
his
life
back
into
order.
Han
Jung-hoon(Park
Shi-hoo),
who
runs
a
film
company,
urges
Seung-hee
to
finish
his
grieving
and
to
start
working
on
film
again.
Determined
to
forget
Hye-soo,
Seung-hee
takes
a
trip
into
the
the
rural
areas
of
Korea.
There,
after
declaring
that
he
is
going
to
move
on
with
his
life
and
forget
about
his
girlfriend,
he
goes
into
town
where
he
sees
a
girl
that
looks
just
like
his
beloved
Hye-soo.
Struck
by
the
utter
similarity,
he
starts
to
follow
the
girl
to
her
hometown,
which
turned
out
to
be a
far-flung
province.
The
girl,
named
Kim
Bok-shil(also
played
by
Jung
Ryu-won),
realizing
Seung-hee
had
nowhere
else
to
stay
for
the
night,
offers
her
home
as
an
inn.
Being
poor,
she
considers
all
opportunities
a
chance
to
get
good
money.
After
spending
the
night
at
the
fake
inn,
the
two
also
spends
the
morning
together
searching
for
fresh
mountain
water
and
encountering
a
wild
boar
in
the
process.
Seung-hee
does
not
reveal
his
identity
to
Bok-shil,
and
Bok-shil
mistakes
him
for
a
bum
waiting
to
pass
a
long
overdue
exam.
While
walking
on
the
countryside,
Seung-hee
is
inspired
by
the
beauty
of
his
surroundings
and
gets
ready
to
prepare
for
his
next
film.
He
then
returns
to
Seoul
and
later
comes
back
to
Bok-shil's
village
to
shoot.
They
see
each
other
again,
and
Bok-shil
realizes
Seung-hee
is a
renowned
director.
Bok-shil
then
positions
herself
as a
rice-server
for
the
crew
and
comes
to
the
set
everyday.
By a
stroke
of
luck,
Han
Jung-hoon,
also
on
the
set,
absent-mindedly
offers
Bok-shil
a
job
at
the
film
company.
Jung-hoon
is
also
struck
by
the
similarity
of
Bok-shil
and
Hye-soo.
Bok-shil
comes
to
Seoul
to
pursue
her
screenwriting
ambition,
and
ends
up
working
under
the
mentorship
of
Choi
Seung-hee
himself.
In
the
hopes
of
saving
enough
money
for
her
mother's
surgery,
Bok-shil
braves
the
demands
of
her
work
despite
her
clumsy
and
awkward
ways.
Seung-hee
finds
himself
being
attracted
to
Bok-shil
because
of
her
face,
initially,
and
then
later
on
because
of
her
unique
charm
and
humor.
The
two
begin
to
grow
feelings
for
one
another.
Hye-soo's
family,
by
chance,
sees
Bok-shil
and
realizes
she
is
the
long
lost
sister
of
Hye-soo.
Hye-soo's
mother,
determined
not
to
lose
another
daughter,
runs
an
investigation
to
find
out
Bok-shil's
real
identity.
Proving
that
Bok-shil
is
really
Lee
Hye-rim,
her
lost
younger
daughter,
she
pleads
Bok-shil/Hye-rim
to
leave
her
rural
life
and
adopted
mother
to
embrace
her
true
lineage.
Through
Yoon
Mi-Hyun(Kang
Jung-hwa),
the
film
company's
music
director
who
turned
to
be
her
cousin,
Bok-shil
realizes
she
is
the
sister
of
Hye-soo,
Seung-hee's
former
girlfriend.
She
is
now
conflicted
on
how
to
tell
the
truth
to
Seung-hee,
and
when
it
is
revealed
that
Bok-shil
is
actually
Lee
Hye-rim,
younger
sister
to
Lee
Hye-soo,
Seung-hee
distances
himself
from
her.
After
the
initial
shock
and
confusion,
Seung-hee
was
able
to
overcome
his
fears
and
admits
he
is
in
love
with
Hye-rim
as
Kim
Bok-shil.
Bok-shil's
real
mother,
pained
yet
again
for
her
younger
daughter's
choice,
becomes
determined
to
put
an
end
to
the
relationships.
Her
hate
for
Seung-hee
has
come
full-circle,
and
Seung-hee
now
has
the
chance
to
do
what
he
wasn't
able
to
do
for
Hye-soo.

Choi
Seung-hee is a scenario writer and movie
director; a transfer student at the Australia
Film Academy who majored in film producing. His
first short film wins an award at a World Film
Festival and he becomes the new shining star,
but while everything is going so well, he
suddenly encounters a tragic loss: the sudden
death of his lover. The accident happened in the
blink of an eye. After her death he stopped all
his work and hid from the world for 3 years.
However, when his life seems to have hit its
lowest point something weird happens. A girl who
looks exactly like his ex-girlfriend appears in
front of him. She looks exactly like his beloved
Hye-soo, but is a total different person. She is
not just different, but different to the
extreme. Hye-soo was kind and elegant, while
this girl is ignorant, fearless and looks like a
total country girl. Spending time with this
girl, he starts to become a lamb and a spring
wind starts to blow and melt his frozen heart.
But.. it turns out that she is Hye-soo's
long-lost little sister. Out of all the terrible
trials he has been through this one is the
toughest.
Jung Ryu-won as
Kim Bok-shil/Lee Hye-rim/Lee Hye-soo
Kim Bok-shil lives in the
backwoods on the borders of the Taebaek
Mountains in Kangwon-do, a girl who grew up on
the mountain hillsides in a little village, and
getting to the nearest town takes several hours
on a winding road. She lives buried in the
hillsides with her mom, whose mental age is
stuck at 10 because of a coal gas accident, and
without a father, but with her strong mind and
powerful personality, she makes it through
day-by-day, thanks mainly to her positive
attitude toward life. Her one dream is to go to Cheju-do, despite the fact that she hasn't even
been to Seoul. To spread her dreams out a little
more she would like to go to college and get a
degree, and then become a stunning and smart
business women. But as
of right now all these things are just a distant
dream. Just when she starts to think that she is
going to live on this hillside for rest of her
life and is about to throw away all her dreams,
her life takes a sudden turn when she meets Choi
Seung-hee.
Park Shi-hoo as
Han Jung-hoon
Seung-hee's
high school senior; the grandson of the man who
set up the historic publishing company Hee Moon
Gak. A year ago his grandfather died from a
stroke and left him with the ownership of the
company. He displays a humble and polite
character due to the fact that he was brought up
very well by his parents. He is a character who
is very gentle in appearance but sturdy in
spirit. In order to find Seung-hee, who has been
shutting out the world, he finally finds his way
to a little village on the hillside and there he
meets a young woman. At first he was kind to
this country girl, even though in his mind he
looked down on her. She, for her part, keeps
reading his mind and embarrassing him yet
strangely his heart keeps beating towards her.
He can't understand his own heart and why it
keeps beating towards this country girl who only
graduated high school and lives with a dumb mom.
Kang Jung-hwa as
Yoon Mi-Hyun
She
is currently a movie music director. She got
that spot on her own, without any help from her
wealthy grandfather, through her own abilities,
a fact she is very proud of. When Hye-soo came
to the States to study, they were like sisters.
Hye-soo, Seung-hee and Mi-Hyun spend a lot of
time together but then she realizes that she is
starting to like Seung-hee. Then one day Hye-soo
dies in an accident, and from that day on she
was unable to get any closer to Seung-hee. She
goes with Jung-hoon to find Seung-hee and is
surprised when she sees Seung-hee with "Hye-soo",
who died several years ago..
